Small Business Tree Planting Partnerships

Learn how your small business can support our National Forests

Our small business partnerships are designed for companies and organizations that want to demonstrate their environmental commitment by planting trees on our National Forests, but without the larger commitment of a corporate partnership. Our small business partners are a critical component of our coalition of partners and supporters engaged in our campaign to plant 50 million trees.

To date, we’ve planted more than 715,000 trees with the help of our small business partners!

After enrolling in the program, every dollar your business donates will plant a tree on a National Forest that needs your help.*

*We are proud that we invest 85% of every donation directly into our tree planting programs. All trees are planted on National Forests in priority locations determined by the U.S. Forest Service.

How It Works

Becoming a small business partner and supporting tree planting on our National Forests is simple!

  • Enroll as a small business partner. We require a one-time enrollment fee of $100 that supports program administration. Once enrolled, we’ll reach out with donation instructions.
  • Donate to plant trees. Your company can schedule recurring tree planting donations or make donations at your own pace. We do require regular donations to ensure our partnerships are active.
  • We plant your trees. Your donations will be invested in high priority projects across the country, and we’ll ensure that one native tree is planted for every dollar donated.

Benefiting Your Business

Tree planting partnerships are a low-cost, easy way to demonstrate your company’s environmental commitment. A small business partnership shows customers your investment in our National Forests - shared public lands, enjoyed by and of benefit to all Americans! To celebrate and recognize your partnership, we offer:

  • A partnership logo to show your support for our National Forests on your website and in communications.
  • A partner resource kit with photos, shareable tree planting videos, and additional NFF resources.
  • Your company is listed in our Annual Report if donations exceed $500 per year.*
  • Your company is listed on the NFF’s Corporate Partners webpage if your donations exceed $1,000 per year.
  • Quarterly tree planting updates about 50 Million For Our Forests and planting projects.

*September 30 is our annual deadline for listing in our annual report.

One Year, 365 Trees

In honor of Earth Month 2022, starting in April, Small Business Partners and individuals can commit to planting 1 tree a day for 365 days, helping us reach our goal to plant 50,000,000 trees. Interested in making the “One Year, 365 Trees” pledge?

If you’re a Small Business Partner…

*Either of these commitments will go toward your Small Business Partnership.

If you’re an individual donor…

Small Business Partnership Spotlight

The AxeWomen Loggers of Maine are a team of professional timbersports athletes who travel throughout North America competing, performing and promoting women and girls in sports. The ladies who make up the team are world champions, world record holders and collegiate champions in different timbersports events like chopping, sawing, axe throwing and logrolling. The team was formed after the founder, Alissa Wetherbee, noticed a growing number of women competing alongside men in these sports, and the increasing demand from fans to see these women compete on a level playing field.

The AxeWomen Loggers of Maine are honored to be a Small Business Partner of the National Forest Foundation! Through this program they plant one tree for each item of clothing they sell throughout the year. They enjoy explaining the importance of reforestation and sustainability to audiences around the world.
